The Lighthouse home

The Lighthouse Home is a place where parents can renew their strength and find support and comfort through respite services as well as palliative care for their child. The Home’s qualified staff, assisted by a team of trained volunteers, makes each family feel at home. During respite, parents can have complete confidence in leaving their child for varying periods of time ranging from a few days to a few weeks. In addition to receiving the appropriate medical care as required by their illness, children are also able to enjoy adapted recreational programs, making their stay in the Home as enjoyable and stimulating as possible.

Children nearing the end of their life will receive palliative care under the supervision of a skilled pediatric palliative care team. One suite will be set aside so that families are able to stay with their child during this difficult time, without having to administer the actual healthcare.

The Home can accommodate up to 12 children at a time and there is no charge to families when staying at the Home.

The Lighthouse Home is the first pediatric palliative care hospice in Quebec. It will accept children from all over the province.
