The Lighthouse, an actor of change
With 20 years of experience in supporting Quebec’s families who have a child with a life-shortening disease, The Lighthouse Children and Families is honoured to win the prestigious Coup de cœur award at the first edition of the Prix de l'impact social of L'actualité. The award was presented in collaboration with the firm Credo on May 22, 2019.
On the occasion of the award ceremony, Charles Grandmaison, editor-in-chief of L'actualité, underlined the importance of "unifying the living forces of our society for the common good”. The Lighthouse is privileged to have a team of change agents who contribute every day to improving the world!
Following this distinction, journalist Marc-André Sabourin highlighted the interdisciplinary work culture and the richness of the Lighthouse community in his article “Le Phare Enfants et Familles: un phare dans la nuit”. He mentions, among other things, that "once inside, the contagious smile of the employees, the appetizing scents emanating from the kitchen and the living room overflowing with life quickly make us forget that we are in a palliative care hospice for children”.
The Lighthouse Children and Families authentic culture is also reflected as its values of engagement, respect, goodwill and solidarity are recognized with the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association's title of Compassionate Canadian Company.
A corporate culture is developed a little bit every day and that is what makes it possible for The Lighthouse to light the way for families across Quebec who have a child with a life-shortening disease. As a result the children can have fun until the very end!
